Woof Translator — Privacy Policy

Woof Translator is a fun app that uses AI to “translate” your dog’s body language from photos. We built it to be as private as possible. This page explains exactly what happens with your data.

What the app does with photos

When you tap “What is my dog saying?”, the photo you just took is sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) to our server, which forwards it to Anthropic’s Claude AI service to analyze the dog’s body language. A small, reduced-resolution copy of the photo is used for this.

• We do not store your photos on our server. The photo is processed in memory to produce the translation and is not saved by us.
• Anthropic processes the image to generate the response, subject to its own privacy policy.
• Your photos are never used to identify you, never sold, and never used for advertising.

What stays on your phone

• Saved Moments (the photo + translation history in the gallery) are stored only on your device. They never leave your phone unless you explicitly share one using the share button.
• Your daily usage count is stored only on your device.

What we don’t do

• No accounts, sign-ups, or passwords.
• No advertising and no third-party trackers or analytics SDKs.
• No collection of your name, contacts, location, or any personal identifiers.
• No sale or sharing of data with third parties beyond the AI processing described above.

Data we technically receive

Like any internet service, our server sees your device’s IP address when the app talks to it. We use it only for abuse-prevention rate limiting (counting recent requests) held briefly in memory; we don’t keep logs tied to your identity.

Children

Woof Translator is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and the “last updated” date above.
